Our Approach

A Culture of Quality

At Microplant, we specialize in large-scale micropropagation projects. Our success stems from the incredible, decades-long partnerships we've built growing rooted plantlets and microcuttings for nurseries, over the years.

We’ve learned over the last four decades that the only constant in this industry is that there is always more to learn. This means we never stop redefining, reiterating, and re-evaluating our process to sharpen how we do what we do. Our culture of accountability and quality assurance ensures each change is optimizing our process and our offerings.

How We Work

Partnerships Come First

Collaboration is front-of-mind for us as we approach each order. Our team works closely with you to ensure we satisfy your goals and timelines.

A Meticulous Start

Our research & development team sets each order up for success with thorough screenings, ensuring we don’t introduce any new pathogens.

Our Custom-Made Media

We’ve formulated hundreds of recipes of media over decades, ensuring reliable plant health that meets the unique needs of each species every time.

Large Scale Tissue Culture Production

Our skilled hood technicians and quality control experts bring it all to life. They approach each project and each cultivar with rigor and expertise.

Multiple decades-long partnerships with growers

Hundreds of species and cultivars successfully propagated

We take the time with each partner to nail down the details and specifics they’re looking for. Whether it’s a new or rare cultivar, a large order quantity, or something we’ve never tried before, we’re ready for any challenge.

Our tissue culture lab offers two forms of Microplants: Stage 3 Rooted Plantlets and Stage 2 Microcuttings. Both options are available for you to choose depending on your own greenhouse acclimation conditions.

Ensuring Traceability at Every Step

At Microplant, tracing each action taken on our plants is a top priority, with records extending back to the 1980’s when we were first established. Our team ensures that every interaction with a plant is recorded and traceable, reducing risks associated with mix-ups and mistakes.

We work closely with the Oregon Department of Agriculture to meet their inspections, ensuring...

  • Our facility is insect- and vector-proof

  • We have safeguards preventing contamination and intermixing between specimens

  • Our plant material is grown and maintained in sterile conditions

  • We use industry-leading sanitation practices

  • Our methods are compliant with traceability standards

“Microplant maintains clean stock base and also takes care to refresh it yearly. We feel that our lines are safe with them and production numbers can be counted on, which lets us pre-sell liners confidently. The various lines of our plants are maintained, and if there is an issue with any of them the lab works with us well ahead of schedule to come up with a plan to correct.”
